Children’s Ministry
In 2006 we began a children’s ministry located in a squatter’s village on the banks of a riverbed in Jaco. This ministry serves approximately 25 families and 55 children and is directed by a long-time resident from the community.
God has grown this ministry to include regular Bible lessons and healthy meals for the children. Every year we host a back-to-school party where each child receives a school uniform, shoes, and school supplies. Additionally, annual Christmas celebrations provides each family gifts for children and a food basket. We use these events to demonstrate God’s love to these people.
Short term mission teams also help throughout the year by serving this community with specialized children’s events and activities as well as assisting with improvements for resident houses.
Root of Life School - Centro Educativo Raíz de Vida
The vision of Centro Educativo Raíz de Vida (Root of Life School), as a ministry of Radical Church, is to strengthen the church, the home and the community by providing quality Christian education to our students. With God’s help we desire to work together with parents and the church to equip students to successfully achieve God’s plan for their lives by establishing each student with a Biblical worldview through the teaching and application of Biblical principles and general academics. We desire to be known for our love for God and for one another, the centrality of the Gospel, commitment to the church and the home, excellence in Christian education, sports and the arts.
The mission of Raíz de Vida is to teach students the truths of Christ, their identity in Christ, devotion to Christ and action for Christ.
The Spanish word “Vida” means “Life.” “Vida” is our acronym for the mission of the school…

Future Home of Root of Life School
We are currently going through the permitting process. Construction is scheduled to begin in February, 2022. The plan is to construct a second story on our existing children’s facility (pictured on the left) to be the future home of Root of Life School for kids. Upon completion, the facility will be big enough for 100 students!
